may 17, 2025“I dunno man. This movie was kinda fuckin dumb. Like, I’ve seen plenty of horror movies, and I know that no one can be *too* smart or else the movie doesn’t even happen. But I mean, jeez man, everyone in this movie is so fucking dumb. Like more so than usual in a horror movie. Everyone sucks. I really don’t feel bad for any character in it. Except for Jade I guess? But like, SHE was the one who invited people over for the hand stuff that second. So she’s not faultless there. I guess Riley is the only ok character here and he’s comatose for half of it. Fuck both the parents in this, homegirl was one second away from needing CPS called. And keeping a suicide note away from your kid for 2 years??????? Christ dude. I understand the themes of depression and being unable to grieve and struggling with loss. But at the same time it kinda comes across like ‘if you kill yourself you’ll go to demon purgatory!’ which I can’t say I really rock with. On the more nitpick-y side, while there’s not many, most the songs that play are bad, and the choice of song to suddenly kick in for the credits after that kind of ending was not good. Felt like a parody almost. Listen to Unconventional Flicks (https://open.spotify.com/episode/3eXT1VGFAlJ1xuY5xhaEZi?si=v55ivqp8QcquFGW5262acw)”
