I Saw the TV Glow
2024 · 1h 40m · dir. Jane Schoenbrun
This another one of those incredibly made and poignant movies that has definitely been talked about in much more eloquent and meaningful words. Many points in this are of things I can never fully grasp. But the feelings of denied self acceptance and expression, the dissociation, the passage of time in a unsatisfying life, the escapism through something meaningful from a better time, it’s all so real and beautifully tragic. The fact that, at times, it’s hard to tell what’s even real only adds to it. Like I said, those with more poignant words and real, lived experiences that they can relate this movie with can certainly go into more true depth with this. All I know is that this is something truly unique and special, and I’m glad it exists for those who truly need it.
